The Young Lotus Marketer Workshop for

The Sri Lankan Institute of Marketing together with the Accredited Advertising Agencies Association (4A’s) will conduct the first ever Young Lotus Marketer Workshop 2013 –
A nominal fee of Rs. 3500/- per candidate will be charged to enter. Cheques drawn in favor of “Accredited Advertising Agencies Association.”
At the contest, candidates will have to create a 2 page written brief and will be required to make a short presentation to the judges. A maximum of eight slides are allowed. Candidates will be marked against given criteria and adjudged winners.
The contest will follow these rules:
1. The candidate should be able to communicate in Basic English.
2. The candidate must be 28 years of age or under born after 14th March 1984. (NIC / Passport required for verification)
3. The candidate’s entry application must be completed in full and received by 05th February 2013 before 5pm.
4. The candidate would have at least 1 year’s work experience in the field of Marketing and have experience in writing communication briefs.
5. The candidate must be an employee of a Sri Lankan Corporate or Marketing institution.
6. The Candidate must be in possession of a valid passport to travel to
7. Participants are not allowed to access email in the competition room.
8. The use of mobile phones within the competition room is prohibited. Mobile phones are to be handed over before the start of the competition.
The contest will be judged by a local panel of advertising and marketing professionals.
The judge’s decision will be final.
The event will be held on the 09th February 2013.

What is ADFEST?
In 1998, a relatively small group of advertising professionals gathered together in
The festival has come a long way since then. ADFEST is an annual regional advertising event that celebrates creativity in the Asia Pacific region. It is a platform designed t elevate creative standard and promote communication within the advertising and production industry. The festival does not only promote and recognize creative excellence in the region, but more importantly, it provides a unique learning opportunity for participants to see some of the best works in the region and hear it first-hand from the industry experts.
ADFEST acknowledges the necessity for the advertising industry to continuously find ways to reach its increasingly hard-to-reach consumers. With the mediums becoming more diverse and the consumers more savvy, the ways in which content and messages are consumed are completely different in this new ball game.
With the introduction of 3 new award categories in 2007: Radio, 360 and INNOVA Lotus, ADFEST added another 2 categories to the Lotus award line-up: New Director Lotus and Design Lotus bringing its total award categories to 12.
What is the ADFEST Young Lotus Marketer Workshop?
Asia Pacific Advertising Festival wishes to recognize and encourage the rising stars in the region and offers marketer young bloods a direct chance to earn a winning place on the ADFEST stage. The Young Lotus Marketer Workshop will create an environment that allows them to develop skills and learn from our speakers to sharpen their talents so they can compete amongst themselves in the lively atmosphere of ADFEST.
This is the 1st year for the Young Lotus Marketer Workshop with Leo Burnett Asia Pacific as the host agency network. The Young Lotus Marketer Workshop is ideal for advertising manager, brand manager, business development manager, communications manager, marketing manager, media manager or sales manager. The workshop will help young marketers to develop effective creative brand campaigns.
The workshop will be facilitated by a select group of “trainers,” collectively called the Young Lotus Marketer Workshop Committee. It will take place over the course of 3 days prior to ADFEST itself. The format will consist of speaking slots from “trainers” and a workshop element. Attendees will be coached, briefed, and given a work assignment to be completed within 24 hours, which will be judged and a winner selected. A major benefit is that the work will be judged by the Young Lotus Marketer Workshop Committee. Winners will be announced at ADFEST at the Young Lotus awards presentation. All works will be exhibited at ADFEST all workshop participants are invited as delegates of ADFEST.
